I Want to Exhibit Paintings Depicting Suncheon History in a Meaningful Place
Suncheon National University (President Ko Young-jin) announced that Kim Man-ok, a representative local historical painter, has donated 100 Korean paintings to the Suncheon National University Museum.
Kim Man-ok, who also participated in the 'Artists and Hanmadang Event' held in 2020 inviting local artists, recently visited the university and met with President Ko Young-jin and Museum Director Lee Jong-su to pledge the donation of 100 Korean paintings depicting the history of Suncheon to the Suncheon National University Museum.

Painter Kim Man-ok said, "I wanted to exhibit paintings that capture the history of Suncheon in a meaningful place, so I decided to donate them to Suncheon National University, a leading local educational institution." He added, "I hope the works will help students and local residents learn about the region's history easily and enjoyably."
President Ko Young-jin of Suncheon National University responded, "Thank you for donating these precious works. We will arrange special exhibitions in the future to enhance the historical value of Suncheon and allow people to revisit the region's history."
The Suncheon National University Museum plans to hold a special exhibition in May and June to showcase the works.
Meanwhile, Kim Man-ok, a native artist of Suncheon, has participated in over 350 exhibitions including solo, invitational, and group shows. He has served as a judge for the Korea Art Exhibition and various other contests, and participated in events such as the Korean Modern and Contemporary History Exhibition through Art in February 2021, and the Korea-China-Japan Future Convergence Festival East Asia Cultural City Tea Carnival.
