People Power Party March 8 National Convention Supreme Council Member Candidacy
Two Terms as Emergency Committee Chair, Victory in General Election through Stability and Innovation
"No Negative Campaigning"... Pledge to Foster Talent
'The People Power Party is a party that creates everyone's tomorrow together.'
This is the first sentence of the People Power Party's platform and policy, which Kim Byung-min, candidate for Supreme Council member in the People Power Party's March 8 party convention and head of the Gwangjin-gap district party committee, cited as his most proud career achievement. Kim served as the chairman of the Special Committee for Revising the Platform and Policy during the tenure of former Future United Party emergency committee chairman Kim Jong-in in 2020, leading the creation of the platform and policy. Kim explained, "It means aiming for national unity and becoming a competent party that anticipates and prepares for the approaching future one step ahead," adding, "We will not divide people but become a ruling party that prepares for the future."
Following former emergency committee chairman Kim Jong-in, Kim Byung-min also served as an emergency committee member under the current emergency committee led by Jeong Jin-seok. He said, "Emergency committee members tend to feel like appointed members moving under the leadership of the emergency committee chairman, but Supreme Council members are elected by party members through the party convention, so the weight feels much greater," adding, "I will leverage my experience in the emergency committee to lead a stable leadership."

In last year's presidential election, Kim served as the spokesperson for candidate Yoon Seok-yeol. He emphasized, "Every time there is an election, a single wrong word or action by the leadership can greatly affect the nationwide election," and added, "I will do my best to read public sentiment at the people's level based on solid stability."
Kim, a former student council president at Kyung Hee University, entered politics by being elected as a Seocho District council member in 2010 and has continued his political career since. He also served as a policy advisory member of the People Power Party think tank, the Yeouido Institute, in 2015. Although he ran in Gwangjin-gap, considered a Democratic Party stronghold, in the 21st general election, he was defeated. Kim stated, "By communicating with local party members and voters, I believe I feel and catch better than anyone else where public sentiment is moving," adding, "I am confident I will lead the party well through stability and innovation."
Kim said he will devote everything to the general election during the remaining one year to secure victory. He said, "As the election approaches, all parties have managed general elections in a makeshift manner, but I will organize scientific data," adding, "I will open spaces for talented individuals to be active in our party and achieve results in discovering them." To this end, he plans to form a 'National Talent Discovery Task Force.' He also intends to institutionalize and concretize a political school to create a framework where good talents can grow.

As the party convention nears its final stage and candidates engage in fierce exchanges, Kim expressed his desire to hold an election without negativity. He said, "Rather than gaining political reflexive benefits through political attacks on others, candidates should discuss their visions and whether they can make the Yoon Seok-yeol government a successful government," adding, "There are two joint speeches left in two regions, and at the last venue, I intend to present the vision our party should pursue." He appealed for support, saying, "Please watch until the end."
