Opening of Seoseoul Art Museum Connection
Seoul City announced on the 26th that it has signed a business agreement with the Seoul Southern Office of Education to provide art-specialized arts education for youth in the southwestern region ahead of the opening of the 'Seoseoul Museum of Art.'
Scheduled to open in November 2024, the 'Seoseoul Museum of Art' is the first public art museum in the southwestern area. From its inception, it has aimed to operate as a 'museum of art learning supporting youth.' It plans to focus on developing youth-specialized educational programs and promoting mutual cooperation with local educational institutions to revitalize arts education for youth in the southwestern region.
This business agreement was made to link museum education with public education and to establish an educational community foundation in the southwestern region. Through this agreement, both institutions agreed to collaborate in various ways, including ▲developing and operating educational programs linked to the high school credit system ▲supporting the regional hub role of cultural facilities by utilizing educational resources such as networks ▲systematic promotion of the achievements and contents of cooperative projects ▲active exchange of materials and information to maintain continuous cooperation ▲and carrying out other projects deemed necessary to realize the purposes of cooperation.
According to this agreement, Seoul City will conduct a 'Creative Experiential Activities linked to the High School Credit System' program for high school students in the district together with the Southern Office of Education. Participants in the program will have their completion details recorded in their school life records, which will be reflected in the evaluation criteria of the comprehensive student record screening for university admissions.
Choi Kyung-joo, Director of the Seoul Metropolitan Government’s Culture Headquarters, said, “We are pleased to support the ‘artistic learning’ of youth in the southwestern region through this agreement ceremony,” adding, “Seoul plans to expand cooperating institutions throughout the entire city and continuously support educational sites to establish the status of the museum as a cultural facility serving as a regional hub.”
