Geochang-gun Holds Interim Report Meeting on Development of Geochang Apple Processed Products

Development of 4 Types Including Geochang Apple Main Ingredient Jelly

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] Geochang-gun, Gyeongnam announced on the 24th that it held the ‘Geochang Apple Utilization Processed Product Development Service Mid-term Report Meeting’ at the county office situation room, attended by County Governor Goo In-mo, representatives of related organizations, and relevant officials.


Since August, the county has developed four types of apple processed products (Geochang Apple Jelly, Apple Yogurt Bar, Geochang Sand, Apple Beverage Base) through this service.


Geochang Apple Jelly contains apple concentrate and is shaped like a cute apple, making it a product that can effectively and familiarly promote Geochang apples to consumers. The Apple Yogurt Bar is an energy bar containing protein and apple, convenient to eat as a substitute for breakfast or snacks.

Geochang Sand is an apple cookie shaped like a sandwich, developed as a representative product available only at ‘Jiapple,’ and the Apple Beverage Base is a versatile beverage base that makes delicious apple drinks when added anywhere, developed in a package form convenient for use in cafes and other commercial establishments.


At the mid-term report meeting, the final products were confirmed through prototype tasting, sensory evaluation, and discussion. The developed products are scheduled to be launched in mid-March and promoted and sold online through Kakao Makers and offline at Jiapple and the Food Comprehensive Center within the county.


Governor Goo said, “The products developed this time will be processed products that widely promote Geochang apples,” adding, “We will continue to strive to increase the added value of agricultural products and raise farmers’ income by developing various processed products using local specialties.”
