[Asia Economy Reporter Seomideum] The book 'Slam Dunk Resource,' which contains behind-the-scenes content of the animation 'The First Slam Dunk,' has quickly entered the overall No. 1 spot upon its release. It is the first Japanese manga to reach overall No. 1 since 2021's 'Demon Slayer,' with the popularity gained from the animation release extending to the book as well. 'Slam Dunk Resource' attracted significant interest from female readers. According to Kyobo Bookstore, while readers in their 30s accounted for a high proportion (32%), female readers in their 20s also made up a considerable portion (27%).
The Slam Dunk manga series continued to see steady purchases despite long waiting times due to book supply issues. 'Slam Dunk 1' rose 20 places to rank 8th overall.
'Kim Mi-kyung's Forty Lessons' by Kim Mi-kyung, which had topped the overall chart upon release last week, dropped to 2nd place. Gary Keller's 'The One Thing' followed in 3rd place overall.
