[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] The Jeonbuk Fire Headquarters announced on the 23rd that they conducted a safety inspection by visiting Hwaamsa Temple, a traditional temple located in Gyeongcheon-myeon, Wanju-gun, Jeonbuk.
This field visit was promoted to prevent fires at traditional temples, which are wooden cultural properties vulnerable to fire due to the continued dry weather.
They focused on checking the safety management status of wooden cultural properties within the temple, the proper operation of firefighting facilities such as outdoor fire hydrants and emergency extinguishing devices, and the fire safety status of temple personnel including fire safety managers and cultural property safety managers.
Not stopping at just guidance and inspection, they also took time to exchange opinions with temple personnel regarding the safety management of cultural properties and listened to difficulties related to fire safety management.
Kim Sang-gon, Director of the Fire Prevention Division, said, “Traditional temples and other cultural properties are precious heritage sites imbued with the spirit of our nation that must be passed down to future generations. We will implement proactive and continuous preventive policies to ensure that disasters such as fires do not occur.”
