[Jindo＝Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Namjung] The Saemaeul Association of Jindo-gun, Jeollanam-do, conducted a major cleaning volunteer activity for the homes of elderly people living alone in welfare blind spots.

According to the Saemaeul Association on the 23rd, they discovered cases of elderly people living alone in Jindo-eup and worked hard to improve their living environment despite the cold weather.

The subjects had difficulty cleaning due to mobility issues, and the accumulation of household waste and aged furniture inside and outside the house had been neglected for a long time, causing serious hygiene problems.

About 20 members of the Saemaeul Association carried out improvements in the living environment, including separating and disposing of accumulated trash inside the house, rearranging furniture, and cleaning the bathroom, striving to provide a safe and clean living environment for the underprivileged.

Chairman Chu Younggeum said, “We have been continuously promoting volunteer activities to improve the living environment for vulnerable groups, and I am grateful that members participate passionately every time. We will continue to volunteer for neighbors in difficult circumstances in the future.”

Meanwhile, the Jindo-gun Saemaeul Association plans to continue volunteer activities for many neighbors living in hardship within the district by cooperating with institutions and social organizations, in addition to the living environment improvement volunteer activities.
