Scheduled to process 18 agenda items by the 27th
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] The Jinju City Council in Gyeongnam held the 1st plenary session of the 244th extraordinary meeting on the 22nd, confirming a six-day agenda until the 27th, including the review of ordinance proposals, reports on major city administration tasks, and entrusted affairs.
During this session, 18 agenda items will be deliberated and resolved, including 11 ordinance proposals such as the Ordinance on the Operation and Management of the Jinju City Council Policy Support Officer (Councilor Im Ki-hyang and six others), the Ordinance on the Activation and Support of Returning to Farming and Returning to Rural Areas in Jinju City (Councilor Yoon Seong-gwan), and the Ordinance on the Establishment and Operation of the Jinju City Certified Real Estate Agent Advisory Committee (Councilor Hwang Jin-seon and six others), as well as one consent item and one disciplinary request.
Councilor Shin Seo-kyung, who gave a five-minute free speech, advocated for the payment of a 200,000 KRW energy price support fund in response to the recent surge in heating costs. Councilor Baek Seung-heung emphasized the value of restoring the Guinhoe store, and Councilor Lee Gyu-seop reflected on the significance of the 100th anniversary of the Equity Movement.
Also, during the plenary session, the report on the 2022 overseas training results of the Jinju City Council attracted attention. It is significant that this agenda item was elevated to the plenary session, which has higher public visibility, as the final stage of the five-step procedure announced last year by the council to conduct substantial overseas training. The council also held a public performance report meeting for citizens on the 6th, which created a strong response.
Under the agenda on council operations, the Jinju Gyobang Culture Research Association (Councilor Park Mi-kyung) and the Research Association for the Activation of Employment for the Disabled in Jinju City (Councilor Choi Ho-yeon) completed the review for registration as research organizations. These two research associations will launch next month and begin research activities to propose policies.
At the general council meeting, all councilors and staff of the council secretariat participated in reading and pledging a declaration of integrity.
Chairman Yang Hae-young read the declaration as a representative and promised, “We will become a trusted council by creating a clean culture that does not accept money or entertainment under any circumstances, excluding unfair solicitations, and fostering an organizational culture free from unjust work orders and power harassment.”
