[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Koo Dae-sun] The Korea Institute for Robot Industry Advancement (Director Son Woong-hee) is recruiting domestic robot companies to participate in Germany's IFA 2023 (Berlin International Consumer Electronics Fair).
This project was prepared to support domestic robot companies in pioneering markets and boosting exports through the operation of a Korean robot joint pavilion at major overseas robot-related exhibitions.
The Germany IFA 2023 exhibition is one of the world's top three electronics and IT exhibitions alongside CES and MWC, showcasing not only robots but also AI, healthcare, electronic components, and many robot-related products. The Korea Institute for Robot Industry Advancement also operated a joint pavilion at this exhibition in 2019.
A representative from the Korea Institute for Robot Industry Advancement said, “IFA is held annually, but due to the impact of COVID-19, it will be held for the first time in four years since 2019. It is scheduled to take place in Berlin for five days from September 1 to September 5.”
At this exhibition, the Korea Institute for Robot Industry Advancement plans to set up a joint pavilion within the NEXT hall, which is dedicated to innovative technologies and startups, providing opportunities for not only domestic mid-sized and small robot companies but also robot startup companies to expand overseas.
The recruitment target includes domestic small and mid-sized robot companies and startups that have completed development or are in production of robot finished products, robot parts, or robot SI companies capable of exhibiting robot products at the Berlin exhibition.
About 10 selected companies will receive support including 50% of booth rental fees, full support for equipment costs, one interpreter per company, fixed logistics cost support, as well as export marketing activities such as promotional material production and local media promotion.
The application deadline is until 6 p.m. on the 21st, and detailed information can be found on the Korea Institute for Robot Industry Advancement website.
Son Woong-hee, Director of the Korea Institute for Robot Industry Advancement, said, “In line with the advent of the with-COVID era, we intend to resume export marketing support based on offline activities. Through this exhibition, we hope that Korea’s competitive robot products can enter various parts of the European market.”
