Sinan-gun Doubles Additional Heating Cost Support for Vulnerable Groups

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Seo Young-seo] Sinan-gun, Jeonnam (Governor Park Woo-ryang) announced on the 21st that it is providing additional heating cost support to winter energy voucher recipients as a follow-up measure to the Presidential Office’s ‘Heating Cost Support Measures for Vulnerable Groups’ announcement.

Eligible applicants are recipients of livelihood, medical, housing, and education benefits under the ‘National Basic Livelihood Security Act,’ who have household members registered on the resident registration who are elderly (65 years or older), infants (under 6 years old), or persons with disabilities, pregnant women, patients with severe diseases, patients with rare diseases, patients with severe intractable diseases, single-parent families, and child heads of households (including children under foster care). These recipients (themselves) or household members must apply at the town or township office of their registered residence by the 28th.

Additionally, the winter energy voucher support amount will be doubled from the existing 124,100 KRW to 248,200 KRW for single-person households, and from 291,800 KRW to 583,600 KRW for households of four or more. The energy vouchers can be used until April 30.

Governor Park Woo-ryang stated, “We will put more effort into promoting and identifying eligible recipients so that socially marginalized residents struggling with rising public utility and energy costs and cold waves can receive more support.”
