Korea Expressway Corporation Labor and Management Deliver Relief Donations to Turkey and Syria

[Asia Economy Reporter Noh Kyung-jo] Korea Expressway Corporation and its labor union announced on the 21st that they donated 150 million KRW in emergency relief and regional reconstruction funds to T?rkiye and Syria, which suffered great damage from the earthquake.

This donation was raised through contributions from the corporation's executives and employees, as well as a social contribution fund established by union officials. It will be used for procuring daily necessities, relief supplies, and recovery activities for the victims in T?rkiye and Syria through the Korean Red Cross.


Last year, the corporation also donated funds for wildfire recovery in Gangwon and Gyeongbuk regions and flood recovery in Pohang City, and carried out relief activities to overcome major disasters by separately supporting equipment and manpower.


Ham Jin-gyu, president of the corporation, said, "I extend my deepest condolences to the people of T?rkiye and Syria who lost their homes due to the unexpected earthquake damage," adding, "We will continue to fulfill our social responsibilities as a public enterprise and strive to be a small help wherever assistance is needed."
