At this event, head coach Kim Ki-dong, captain Kim Seung-dae, Wanderson, along with newly recruited new faces Baek Seong-dong and Jeca participated in their debut, and the 2023 match calendar was distributed along with a players’ autograph session.

On this day, Mayor Lee Kang-deok purchased season tickets using Pohang Love Gift Certificates and, as the first purchaser of the 2023 Pohang Steelers season tickets, did not hesitate to show support for the Pohang Steelers celebrating their 50th anniversary. In particular, the season tickets were sold at a 53% discounted price during the one-day sale, receiving enthusiastic responses from citizens.

Prior to this, Mayor Lee presented a bouquet to Lee Jong-ha, who was inaugurated as the 8th Pohang Steelers general manager, and Naju-young, chairman of the Pohang City Sports Council, along with various institutions, organizations, and fans participated in the event, heating up the atmosphere with their unwavering affection for the Pohang Steelers.

Mayor Lee Kang-deok of Pohang said, “I sincerely congratulate the Pohang Steelers, the oldest professional football club in South Korea, on their 50th anniversary and the inauguration of the 8th general manager Lee Jong-ha, who will newly lead the club this year. I ask for the citizens’ strong support so that the team can definitely win the AFC Champions League, for which they qualified last year with excellent results.”

The Pohang Steelers’ season home opener is scheduled to take place on the 26th at 2 p.m. at Pohang Steel Yard against FC Daegu.
