[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hwang Du-yeol] Air Busan is resuming its airport lounge service, which had been temporarily suspended, to secure customers.
Air Busan announced on the 21st that it will resume operations of the ‘Air Busan Lounge’ located on the 3rd floor of the international passenger terminal departure hall at Gimhae International Airport starting from the 22nd.
Air Busan was the first domestic low-cost carrier to operate an airport lounge service in September 2018 but temporarily suspended lounge operations from March 2020 due to COVID-19.
Following the lifting of the indoor mask mandate and the increase in international passengers at Gimhae Airport, the airline decided to resume international lounge operations to provide a differentiated boarding experience.
The Air Busan Lounge has received positive reviews from many users since its opening. Gimhae Airport has been evaluated as having a significant shortage of lounges compared to Incheon Airport, and Air Busan’s lounge operation greatly improved convenience for Gimhae Airport users.
In terms of lounge composition, the interior space was designed with a simple yet practical concept differentiated from large airlines’ lounges, and food and beverages were arranged with popular snacks, sandwiches, and drinks.
Air Busan is also improving services in line with the reopening. The menu has been diversified from the existing food and beverage lineup to include bakery items, and dessert options have been added. Additionally, while only draft beer was previously offered, wine and side dishes have been added to strengthen the alcoholic beverage service.
The Air Busan Lounge operates from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m., and tickets can be purchased on the day of departure at the airport or up to two days before departure via the Air Busan website, mobile web, or app.
The price is 25,000 KRW per person, and infants under 24 months can enter free of charge. Lounge access is also available to purchasers of international flight add-on bundles (Smart Up, Premium) and Priority Pass (PP) cardholders. Detailed information on lounge use and purchase can be found on the Air Busan website.
An Air Busan official said, “With this lounge reopening, we have become the only domestic low-cost carrier able to offer lounge services, providing customers with a comfortable journey even before boarding,” adding, “We will continue to expand unique services so that customers can experience rich and distinctive services at reasonable fares.”
