[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Jung-yoon] The Korean Institute of Certified Public Accountants announced on the 21st that it has donated 100 million won to the Korean Red Cross to aid the victims and support the recovery of the affected areas in T?rkiye and Syria, which suffered damage from the recent earthquake.
Separately, major accounting firms and related employees have also voluntarily contributed over 300 million won to fundraising organizations recently. The relief funds from the Korean Institute of Certified Public Accountants will be used to support emergency relief supplies, food aid, securing shelters, and other assistance for earthquake damage relief and recovery.
Kim Young-sik, President of the Korean Institute of Certified Public Accountants, said, "I extend my deepest condolences to the people of T?rkiye and Syria who have lost their beloved families and homes due to the sudden major earthquake," adding, "I hope that the warmth of the accounting industry can be of some help in enabling those suffering to regain their daily lives as soon as possible."
