[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] On the 20th at 2 p.m., Kim Tae-woo, Mayor of Gangseo-gu, Seoul, attended the 'Western Metropolitan Area Administrative Council Meeting' held in the video conference room of Gyeyang District Office, Incheon.


Established in 1993, the Western Metropolitan Area Administrative Council consists of eight local governments including Gangseo-gu, Yangcheon-gu, Gimpo-si, Bucheon-si, Gyeyang-gu and Seo-gu in Incheon, and Ganghwa-gun. They are working together to resolve common issues and promote mutual development among local governments.


Due to COVID-19, this meeting was held for the first time in three years and proceeded in the order of ▲sharing past activities ▲partial amendment of the council's regulations ▲election of the first executive committee of the 8th civil term ▲discussion on future directions.


Mayor Kim Tae-woo said, "In the administrative council where heads of local governments in the western metropolitan area gather to seek common development directions, we will continuously consult with neighboring local government heads to solve pressing local issues such as relocating the Banghwa landfill site and easing airport height restrictions," adding, "We will do our utmost to resolve the long-standing wishes of 570,000 Gangseo residents."

Oh Seung-rok, Mayor of Nowon-gu, Receives Appreciation Plaque from the 2023 Private Daycare Center Association and Attends Meeting


On the 20th at 1:30 p.m., Oh Seung-rok, Mayor of Nowon-gu, attended the '2023 Private Daycare Center Association Appreciation Plaque Presentation and Meeting' held in the mayor's office.


The Nowon-gu Private Daycare Center Association has actively engaged in community activities, including donating 10 million won this year as a warm winter fund hoping to help neighbors in need.


The meeting was held with the attendance of current and former executives of the Private Daycare Center Association, including Mayor Oh Seung-rok, and proceeded with the presentation of appreciation plaques to former executives, a meeting, and commemorative photo session.


Mayor Oh Seung-rok said, "I thank the Private Daycare Center Association for extending helping hands to neighbors in need every year," and added, "I ask for your continued cooperation with the district to create a healthy and happy childcare environment this year as well."
