[Asia Economy Reporter Kwon Hyun-ji] NH Nonghyup Financial Group is accelerating its transformation toward a digital financial group under the leadership of Chairman Lee Seok-jun.

NH Nonghyup Financial announced on the 19th that it held the '1st Nonghyup Financial DT (Digital Transformation) Promotion Supreme Council' of 2023 at its headquarters in Jung-gu, Seoul on the 17th.

The meeting focused on strategies to strengthen the digital sector. Chairman Lee and executives from each affiliate exchanged opinions on ▲enhancing competitiveness of mobile platforms ▲spreading a data-driven decision-making culture ▲resolving internal and external obstacles to DT promotion. Specifically, Nonghyup Bank plans to fully upgrade its non-face-to-face channel infrastructure, and NH Investment & Securities intends to develop an application (app) usable on smartwatches. Nonghyup Card and Nonghyup Life Insurance will also integrate their dual channels into one to improve customer convenience.

Since his inauguration, Chairman Lee has emphasized the need to remove various hurdles that have hindered Nonghyup Financial's change and growth and to improve its organizational constitution. In particular, he has urged leading innovation in work methods and organizational culture within the digital sector.

At the meeting, Chairman Lee stated, “Only organizations where each employee has a clear direction and vision can become world-class,” and stressed, “Let us boldly break away from repetitive practices and prepare for Nonghyup Financial's future through new attempts.”
