New Confirmed Cases 10,274... 1,768 Decrease Compared to Last Week

[Asia Economy Reporter Kwak Minjae] As the decline in the COVID-19 pandemic continues, the number of confirmed cases increased by about 10,000 on the 19th. This is 1,768 fewer than the 11th, a week ago.

The Central Disease Control Headquarters announced that as of midnight on this day, the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases increased by 10,718, bringing the total to 30,419,297. The number of new confirmed cases on this day is 718 fewer than the previous day (11,436). Based on Saturday announcements, this is the lowest number in 33 weeks since July 2 of last year (1,708), the early stage of the 6th wave.


Among the new confirmed cases on this day, 23 were imported cases, 3 fewer than the previous day. Of these, 6 (26.1%) were arrivals from China. Excluding imported cases, domestic regional infections numbered 10,251.


The number of confirmed cases by region (including imported cases) is as follows: Gyeonggi 2,489, Seoul 1,906, Gyeongnam 654, Busan 635, Gyeongbuk 627, Daegu 565, Incheon 531, Chungnam 443, Jeonbuk 439, Jeonnam 426, Chungbuk 299, Gwangju 272, Ulsan 272, Gangwon 236, Daejeon 235, Jeju 151, Sejong 87, Quarantine 7.


The number of critically ill patients currently hospitalized is 213, 3 fewer than the previous day. This is the lowest level in 118 days since October 23 of last year (212). The number of deaths remains the same as the previous day at 12. The cumulative number of deaths is 33,844, and the cumulative fatality rate is 0.11%.
