Even the mole under the eyebrow is identical... 'Jennie' in Chanel animation

CocoCrush 2023 Campaign Video Released
Targeting Young Consumers with Gen Z Models

French luxury brand CHANEL released an animation featuring BLACKPINK's Jennie as the main character on the 17th.

The video showcases a 2D character representation of Jennie. The Jennie character retains her distinctive features, such as her long black straight hair and the beauty mark between her eyes and eyebrows. Wearing CHANEL jewelry, she rides a bike through the streets of Paris, exuding a free-spirited and intense atmosphere.

Jennie, who is active as CHANEL's global ambassador, first connected with CHANEL in 2017 as CHANEL Korea's beauty muse. She was later appointed as a CHANEL House ambassador in 2019 and has been the model for the Coco Neige collection and Coco Crush campaign in 2021 and 2022.

Since the 12th, CHANEL has been releasing animated videos featuring brand models Jennie, actress Margaret Qualley, and Amandla Stenberg as characters as part of the 2023 campaign for 'Coco Crush.'

Coco Crush is a fine jewelry brand launched by CHANEL in 2015 targeting the younger generation. The protagonists in the newly released videos are all born between 1994 and 1998. This is interpreted as an effort to emphasize the brand's youthful vibe through stars from Generation Z (those born from the mid-1990s to the early 2010s).

The related content was released on the official website. Prior to Jennie, on the 12th, 'Dear Destiny' starring Amandla Stenberg was posted, followed by 'Dear Goodbye' featuring Margaret Qualley on the 15th.

Finally, on the 17th, a video titled 'Dear Paris' starring Jennie, lasting about 43 seconds, was unveiled.

Meanwhile, this is not the first time CHANEL has used animation for brand promotion. CHANEL has previously used this format for the 'Metiers d’Art' collection, which is held separately from the official show every December. At the end of 2021, CHANEL produced teaser videos in animation form to promote the 2021·2022 Metiers d’Art shows and introduce collaborating ateliers.

However, this Coco Crush animation is the first planned content reflecting the brand theme featuring the brand’s official ambassadors as main characters.
