Relief Fund Delivered Through Korean Red Cross
Relief Supplies Also Collected in Collaboration with Local Community
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] Jinju City, Gyeongnam Province, on the 16th, donated an emergency relief fund of 100,000 USD (approximately 128 million KRW) to the Korean Red Cross to support recovery efforts and relief activities for victims in the earthquake-affected areas of Turkey.
The city stated that in the situation where large-scale human and material damage has occurred due to the earthquake on the 6th, and active international support for Turkey is urgently needed, Jinju City decided to contribute by providing this relief fund.
Joo Kyu-il, mayor of Jinju City, Gyeongnam, is delivering an emergency relief donation of 100,000 dollars to the Korean Red Cross.
Mayor Jo Gyu-il said, “We extend our deepest condolences to the people of Turkey who have lost their homes due to the large-scale earthquake,” and added, “We hope this support will help the suffering Turkish people and the recovery efforts even a little, and we will continue to maintain ongoing interest and support for our brother country Turkey.”
Along with this emergency relief fund support, Jinju City is collecting relief supplies in cooperation with the Saemaul Leaders Jinju City Council, Jinju City Saemaul Women's Association, and the Barugesalgi Movement Jinju City Council. Until the 28th, winter supplies and other practical aid items are being collected at the Eup/Myeon offices and Dong Administrative Welfare Centers to be delivered to Turkey.
