Considering Treasury Bond Issuance Performance and Recent Fiscal Needs
[Asia Economy Sejong=Reporter Ju Sang-don] The Ministry of Economy and Finance announced on the 16th that "there are no plans to issue government bonds through 'non-competitive subscription by solicitation method' in February." The non-competitive subscription by solicitation method is a system that issues a pre-announced amount at a fixed interest rate to reduce the volatility of monthly issuance volume.
They explained that the decision was made considering the February government bond issuance performance, recent fiscal needs, and government bond supply and demand conditions. Previously, the Ministry of Economy and Finance had stated that the implementation of non-competitive subscription and detailed plans would be separately announced later.
The March government bond issuance plan will be separately announced on the Ministry of Economy and Finance website on the 2nd of next month.
Meanwhile, on the 2nd, the Ministry of Economy and Finance announced that it would issue government bonds worth 3 trillion won through a competitive bidding method. Compared to last month's government bond issuance plan (10.5 trillion won), this is an increase of 2.5 trillion won.
