Last month, Jeong also compared Lee and former President Kim on KBS radio, saying, "There is no leader who grows without hardship and suffering. Former President Kim was even sentenced to death during Chun Doo-hwan's regime and almost drowned in Tokyo during Park Chung-hee's era. It is through such experiences that one rises as a leader."

Former National Intelligence Service Director Park Ji-won also compared former President Kim and Lee on OhmyTV's 'Sung Kyung-hwan Asks, Park Ji-won Answers,' stating, "Lee is much more remarkable than former President Kim.
