Plans to Explore Activation Measures for Regional Farm Convergence Industries

This business agreement is the second following the one with Handong University in December last year. Through this, the Department of Life Sciences at POSTECH plans to accelerate the development of cosmetics and new drug materials using various agricultural products produced in the city.

Based on this, Pohang City intends to explore various measures to support local farmers in expanding beyond primary industries limited to production into secondary and tertiary industries such as processing and experiential activities, thereby enabling growth into the sixth industry, a rural convergence industry.

The New Vitality Plus Project is striving to establish a foundation for sustainable rural growth by fostering private activists who engage both urban residents and farmers, organizing them to build networks, providing specialized education, discovering new businesses, and creating jobs.
