Only Ahn Cheol-soo Says 'O' to Han Dong-hoon as General Election Campaign Chairman

On the afternoon of the 15th, at the People Power Party's 3rd party convention representative candidate debate held at TV Chosun Studio in Jung-gu, Seoul, when asked, "Is there a candidate whom President Yoon Seok-yeol favors in this party convention?" candidates Kim Ki-hyun and Cheon Ha-ram answered "O." On the other hand, candidates Ahn Cheol-soo and Hwang Kyo-ahn answered "X."

Candidate Kim, who is supported by the pro-Yoon (pro Yoon Seok-yeol) faction, explained, "I think the relationship between the president and the party leader is like a married couple. It becomes a community of destiny. The president can only work if we win the general election next year, so it is natural to be interested in 'who will be my spouse' in this cohabiting relationship. Therefore, I think about who shares the same mindset to properly carry out national tasks."

Candidate Cheon, classified as part of the 'pro-Lee Jun-seok faction,' said, "Anyone can see that the president seems to have a preferred candidate. The entire nation knows, and most of our party members and supporters know this. Pretending this does not exist is not right. If we engage in such politics, we will lose the trust of our people. It is right to face reality and judge what is right or wrong," he emphasized.

Candidate Ahn, who believes there is no 'Yunsim,' said, "President Yoon said at this New Year's meeting that 'there is no Yunsim.' The president's words carry great weight, and since he said there is no Yunsim, I believe he will keep that promise. I will also do my best for the success of the Yoon Seok-yeol administration."

Candidate Hwang said, "The president oversees the state affairs, and I think he will choose someone who can save the country and overcome difficult state affairs. President Yoon will make such a right choice," he said.

Then, when asked, "If you become the party leader, will you recruit Minister of Justice Han Dong-hoon as the election campaign committee chairman for next year's general election?" only candidate Ahn chose "O." Ahn answered, "There are several campaign committee chairpersons, each with characteristics in different fields, and they are composed of people who can gather votes in those fields. Minister Han has sufficiently built and proven achievements in his field. Since he can gather votes in that area, I judge he is suitable as a campaign committee chairman."
