This program was designed to reduce the anxiety and worries of prospective parents and to improve the adaptability of children from multicultural families to school life.
To support a bright and hopeful school life and to ease the financial burden even a little, Yeongyang Central Church provided school bags to 11 children entering elementary school, and the Yeongyang-gun Multicultural Family Association delivered school supplies, creating a meaningful occasion to celebrate the new start.
Lee Seonjeong, director of the Yeongyang-gun Multicultural Family Support Center, said, "Through this program, we hope multicultural family parents learn about the role of parents, the structure of elementary schools, and the curriculum, and we ask for continuous encouragement and support so that their children can adapt well to the unfamiliar school life."
