[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hwang Du-yeol] Busan Gijang-gun will begin accepting applications for the '3rd Gijang-type Disaster Basic Income' starting from the 15th.
Gijang-gun announced that it will start accepting applications for the '3rd Gijang-type Disaster Basic Income' from the 15th to overcome the economic difficulties of residents caused by the prolonged COVID-19 disaster situation and the heating cost crisis, and to revitalize the local economy.
The eligibility for application includes all residents who have continuously registered their residence in Gijang-gun from before the reference date of January 4, 2023, up to the application date.
Online applications can be submitted from the 15th via the Gijang-gun Office website or the dedicated Gijang-type Disaster Basic Income site, and in-person applications can be made at the local eup/myeon administrative welfare centers starting from the 22nd.
The application method requires one representative per household to apply either online or by visiting the local administrative welfare center, and 300,000 KRW per person will be paid in cash to the household account. For in-person applications, applicants must submit the application form, an ID such as a resident registration card, driver's license, or passport, and a copy of the bankbook.
To avoid congestion caused by simultaneous online and in-person applications, a 5-day rotation system based on the last digit of the head of household's birth year will be applied until March 8.
The last digit of the head of household's birth year corresponds to the following days: ▲‘1, 6’ on Monday, ▲‘2, 7’ on Tuesday, ▲‘3, 8’ on Wednesday, ▲‘4, 9’ on Thursday, and ▲‘5, 0’ on Friday. On weekends, anyone can apply online regardless of the 5-day rotation system. From March 9, the 5-day rotation system will be lifted, allowing applications on all days.
Jung Jong-bok, the mayor of Gijang-gun, said, “With the payment of the 3rd Gijang-type Disaster Basic Income, I hope to overcome difficulties together with the residents and welcome a hopeful spring,” and added, “We will concentrate all administrative efforts to ensure the disaster basic income is paid promptly to revitalize the local economy.”
