It is divided into six core policies including ▲ fostering core industries such as advanced, main, and materials, parts, and equipment ▲ workforce development ▲ regulatory innovation ▲ realization of the local era ▲ economic and livelihood support ▲ expansion of transportation networks.

Among the government's major focus policies, the 'fostering core industries' sector includes advanced technology development such as semiconductors, automobiles, and bio industries, while the 'workforce development' sector involves institutional improvements and support for workforce training and expansion in advanced industries.

The 'regulatory innovation' sector includes legislative revisions and support for easing regulations in education, military, and decentralization, and for the 'realization of the local era,' the focus is on expanding local government authority and strengthening financial capacity through the Special Self-Governing Province.

In terms of 'economic and livelihood support,' efforts are being made to support the livelihood economy in sectors such as companies, agriculture, welfare, and medical care, and for 'expansion of transportation networks,' active responses are planned for building railway and road networks within local regions and extending GTX lines.

Among these, government policies highly connected with Gangwon Province include investing in future growth industries such as semiconductors, e-mobility, hydrogen, and bio-health, as well as establishing the foundation for the Special Self-Governing Province through amendments to the Gangwon Special Act and expanding high-speed railway and road networks.

In particular, the plan is to promote these in line with fostering core industries, regulatory innovation, and realization of the local era, focusing on the creation of a semiconductor cluster and the establishment of the Special Self-Governing Province foundation, which are key pledges of the provincial government, and to respond proactively through consultations with ministries, public contests, and attraction efforts.

The province has been holding government work report response strategy meetings since the end of last year, discussing a total of 110 province-linked projects with participation from heads of relevant ministries and departments.

Kim Jin-tae, Governor of Gangwon Province, urged provincial officials to thoroughly respond to future growth industry investments and preparations for the launch of the Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province in line with government policies, and requested, "Please actively respond to securing next year's national budget for the province in accordance with the budget directions related to each ministry's core policies."
