As demand for overseas travel revives, a survey found that 6 out of 10 people, especially in the Asia region, are willing to travel even if prices are high.

Travel and leisure platform Yanolja announced on the 15th that a survey of 865 application users on the 'perceived cost of traveling in Asia' showed that 59.2% responded that they would travel regardless of the high perceived costs of airfare and accommodation.

Among the respondents, 71.5% said the perceived airfare cost was 'expensive.' 45.6% evaluated accommodation prices as 'high,' while 49% said they were reasonable.

Among Asian countries, Japan was the most desired destination at 41.5%, followed by Thailand (15.6%) and Vietnam (14.7%). The expected round-trip airfare price was '200,000 to 300,000 KRW' according to 53.2% of respondents, exceeding half. Regarding the appropriate accommodation price for the top three preferred travel destinations, the most common answer was 'around 100,000 KRW per night (69.4%).'

Yanolja analyzed, "Users feel a particular burden from airfare prices compared to before COVID-19, but it seems they prioritize their suppressed desire for overseas travel over the cost." They added, "Asia is relatively affordable to visit and allows for easy and spontaneous trips, so it appears to be less affected by price."

Yanolja operates 'Mega Day,' which releases special airfare deals every Wednesday to reduce the burden of short-distance flight costs. On the 22nd, round-trip airfare to Tokyo, Japan will be sold on a first-come, first-served basis for 99,000 KRW. All customers who purchase overseas airfare will also receive a 15% discount coupon for overseas accommodations.
