Delicious Restaurants Recommended by Euljiro Commuters♥
Drinkit was born in Euljiro. Euljiro is so famous and hot that even people who don’t live in Seoul call it ‘Hipjiro.’ Not only is it a hot place, but from the old printing alleys to Sewoon Sangga near Euljiro 4-ga, you can find both trendy spaces for the younger generation and places where long history sleeps. The biggest advantage of Euljiro, which gives a different vibe in every alley, is that there are many delicious restaurants. Although many people line up during lunchtime due to the heavy foot traffic, here are three great Euljiro eateries worth visiting despite the wait?open your eyes wide and check them out.
Ramaneuisikju
The first place to introduce is Ramaneuisikju, located 20 meters from Euljiro Exit 9. This is a place recommended by an editor who commutes to Euljiro and whose soul food is pho, hoping it doesn’t become too famous but also wants many people to taste it! Especially in Euljiro, you can easily find pho restaurants like ChopChop and Bebviet, but this place is a great new addition to the list. The signboard is small, so if you’re not paying attention, it’s easy to miss, and the interior only has bar tables, so it’s a bit difficult to go in groups. Recommended for up to 3 people. As a Vietnamese restaurant, the menu is simple with pho and banh mi. The deep broth and tender noodles combined with generous toppings make it perfect for a meal with no downsides. There is no hoisin or chili sauce, only Sriracha sauce, so sauce lovers should keep that in mind. We also recommend sharing the spicy and tangy Tom Yum Goong and various types of banh mi with friends.
Dondok
Do you like tteokbokki? Do you like donkatsu? Then head to Dondok! It’s a place where anyone, regardless of age or gender, can enjoy both menus at once. It has been open for less than a year, so if you’re tired of repetitive menus, you’ve come to the right place. Beyond the neat interior, the menu, taste, and generous portions are also advantages. The tteokbokki includes boiled eggs, wheat rice cakes, fish cake skewers, and fried fish cakes that look similar to donkatsu, making it a rich composition. Note that for spicy food lovers, the tteokbokki might taste a bit mild. The editor, who prefers strong flavors, also found it somewhat lacking. Both the fried fish cakes and donkatsu have thin, crispy batter, so you can enjoy the crunchiness until the end of the meal. The portions are generous enough for two people, so if you eat small amounts, come well prepared.
Jinjag
Jinjag, one of the hottest places during lunchtime in Euljiro, is the last spot. It’s probably already on many people’s must-visit lists, but if you haven’t been able to go due to the wait, this is a strong recommendation. Missing even one elevator means waiting a long time, but Jinjag is delicious enough to endure the wait. The main dishes, daechang rice bowl and salmon rice bowl, are a must, so try to order one menu per person. The rich beef large intestine is balanced by a spicy and sweet special sauce, and it becomes even more fantastic when paired with pickled onions and wasabi♡ The salmon rice bowl uses only fresh salmon prepared on the day, but the biggest downside of both dishes is the small portion size relative to the price. Still, the reason for recommendation is the freshness of the ingredients and the consistently good taste! The spicy pollock roe carbonara, which is great for sharing, has a slightly different flavor. Instead of the rich cream and salty pollock roe, the seaweed flakes’ flavor is stronger, so even those who usually don’t enjoy pollock roe can enjoy it without discomfort.
Let’s make plans in Euljiro for lunch and dinner today★
