Newly appointed International Policy Officer Lee Seung-beom has served as the Ministry of National Defense Foreign Cooperation Officer, Consul at the Republic of Korea Consulate General in Honolulu, Chief of the Korea-US Security Cooperation Division at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Head of the Personnel Management Team at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, First Secretary at the Embassy in the United States, and Counselor at the Embassy in Afghanistan. The Ministry of National Defense introduced him as "having held key positions in the fields of diplomacy and security, and recognized for his expertise in the Korea-US alliance and security cooperation."
Officer Lee said, "In the severe security environment, I will do my best to further strengthen the Korea-US alliance, enhance defense exchange and cooperation with value-sharing countries, and expand the horizon of our military diplomacy."
