BMW Launches Pre-Orders for High-Performance SAV 'XM'

Prices Starting from 220 Million KRW

[Asia Economy Reporter Oh Gyumin] BMW Korea will begin accepting pre-orders for the M-exclusive high-performance SAV model, the 'New XM,' through the 'BMW Shop Online' starting at 3 PM on the 21st.

The XM is the first M-exclusive model introduced by BMW M since the legendary sports coupe M1 launched in 1978. It is also the first electrified model in the M High Performance lineup.

The M Hybrid Drive system equipped in the XM combines an M TwinPower Turbo V8 gasoline engine with an electric motor, delivering a system maximum output of 653 horsepower and a peak torque of 81.6 kg·m. In other words, it uses a plug-in hybrid system.

It takes only 4.3 seconds to accelerate from a standstill to 100 km/h. Equipped with a high-voltage battery with a capacity of 29.5 kWh, it can travel approximately 80 km in pure electric mode on a single charge based on WLTP standards.

The exterior features powerful contours, a dynamic silhouette, and M-exclusive design elements. The driver-focused front seats inside are equipped with the BMW Curved Display and BMW Head-Up Display, both running BMW OS 8.

Integral Active Steering, a rear-wheel steering function, is standard, supporting more agile driving. The BMW IconicSounds Electric, co-developed by BMW Group and film music composer Hans Zimmer, adds driving enjoyment with vivid electric vehicle-specific sounds.

Additionally, the Bowers & Wilkins Diamond Surround Sound System and 4-zone air conditioning are standard features.

The expected price of the XM is between 220 million and 230 million KRW, and it is scheduled for official release in Korea in March.
