Gyeongnam Jeongbo University Conducts Semiconductor Process and Equipment Maintenance Training

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hwang Du-yeol] The New Industry Specialized Project Group of Gyeongnam Information University conducted the 'Winter Vacation Semiconductor Process and Equipment Maintenance Training' twice, each lasting 4 nights and 5 days, at the DGIST Next-Generation Semiconductor Convergence Research Center during the winter vacation.

This training was conducted for about 20 students from the Advanced Future Department of Gyeongnam Information University who wish to work in the semiconductor field, including departments of Semiconductor, Electronic Engineering, Electrical Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering.

The training consisted of a total of 30 hours of programs aimed at strengthening students' practical skills, including hands-on practice in manufacturing basic semiconductor devices such as MOSFET and maintenance training for semiconductor process equipment.

Before this training held at DGIST, Gyeongnam Information University provided preliminary education in the cleanroom practice lab on campus, covering the MOSFET manufacturing process using the eight major semiconductor processes such as wafer oxidation, photolithography, and etching, to further enhance students' understanding.

Shin Ji-yong, a first-year student in the Semiconductor Department who participated in the training, said, "Through this program, I was able to directly manufacture a semiconductor MOSFET and accurately learn the process steps that I had studied theoretically."

Im Jun-woo, head of the project group at Gyeongnam Information University, said, "This training will serve as a significant technical foundation for students in the semiconductor industry field," and added, "Gyeongnam Information University will do its best to provide systematic, field-customized education for students who wish to work in the semiconductor sector to cultivate excellent semiconductor professionals."
