Sunchon National University Hosts Meeting with National Assembly Member So Byung-chul

Introduction to University Promotion Projects Inviting City and Provincial Council Members, Exploring Collaboration Methods

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Heo Seon-sik] Suncheon National University (President Ko Young-jin) announced that on the 10th, it held a "Meeting with National Assembly Member So Byung-chul for Fostering Future New Industries" at the university headquarters together with metropolitan and basic council members.


This meeting was organized to introduce the national financial support projects in the future new industry sector that Suncheon National University is promoting to local stakeholders, and to explore ideas for collaboration with local governments to seek win-win solutions between the university and the region.

The meeting was attended by National Assembly Member So Byung-chul, Jeollanam-do council members Kim Jin-nam and Kim Jeong-hee, and Suncheon city council members Jeong Byeong-hoe, Jeong Hong-jun, Lee Young-ran, Jang Gyeong-won, Jeong Gwang-hyeon, and Jang Gyeong-sun.


Suncheon National University introduced key upcoming new industry promotion projects such as the ▲Pseudonymized Information Utilization Support Center project ▲Software-Centered University project ▲New Construction of Advanced Engineering Department project ▲Regional Innovation-Centered University Support System (RISE) project, and explained that active administrative and financial support from local governments is necessary for the successful implementation of each project.


National Assembly Member So Byung-chul, who arranged the meeting, said, "I will review the necessary matters to smoothly promote the new industry projects envisioned by the university for regional development, and will consistently pay attention to provide timely support together with local government council members."


Suncheon National University President Ko Young-jin said, "For a regional university to lead quality education and industry-academia cooperation, organic collaboration with local governments is very important," and added, "I hope that this meeting will serve as a stepping stone to expand network channels where the university and local governments can collaborate regularly."
