Lecture Scheduled by Professor Emeritus Kim Hyung-seok
[Asia Economy Reporter Hyunju Lee] Bae Hyun-jin, a member of the National Assembly's Culture, Sports and Tourism Committee from the People Power Party, announced on the 14th that she will hold a "Policy Forum for the Establishment of the Mijudosan Memorial Hall" at the National Assembly Members' Office Building, Meeting Room 1.
In a press release on the 13th, Representative Bae stated, "To raise domestic interest in the establishment of the Mijudosan Memorial Hall, we planned this forum together with the Mijudosan Ahn Chang-ho Memorial Association, the Mijudosan Memorial Hall Construction Committee, and other Korean-American communities."
At the forum, Professor Emeritus Kim Hyung-seok of Yonsei University will give a lecture titled "The Dosan Ahn Chang-ho I Met."
The Yoon Seok-yeol administration recently purchased the LA Heungsadan, the independence movement headquarters of Dosan Ahn Chang-ho, which was at risk of demolition by a Chinese development company. Although the headquarters building was threatened with demolition due to neglect by the previous administration, it was saved through the efforts of the Korean-American community.
Representative Bae expressed, "I am very grateful that our precious independence movement heritage has been preserved through the active efforts of the new government," and urged people to show great interest in this forum.
