Samyang Foods announced on the 13th that the initial batch of 200,000 units of 'Yakisoba Buldak Bokkeummyeon,' launched in Japan on the 25th of last month, sold out within two weeks.

Yakisoba Buldak Bokkeummyeon is a locally tailored product that combines the spicy flavor of Buldak with Yakisoba, a representative Japanese dish. It harmonizes the tangy and savory taste of Yakisoba with the unique sweet and spicy flavor of Buldak. The product is available at Don Quijote, Japan's largest discount store, and is scheduled to be stocked in convenience stores such as Lawson starting this month.

At Don Quijote, where Yakisoba Buldak Bokkeummyeon was first introduced, it is recording the highest sales among Buldak brand products sold in the store. Especially as a new Buldak brand product available only in Japan, it is gaining word-of-mouth popularity in Korea as well, with inquiries and reviews pouring in mainly through blogs and online communities.

Samyang Foods has been consistently launching customized product lines reflecting local market characteristics in line with the global popularity of the Buldak brand. In China, they released 'Mala Buldak Bokkeummyeon,' using 'Mala,' a representative local spicy flavor; in Southeast Asia, 'Curry Buldak Bokkeummyeon'; and in the Americas, 'Corn Buldak Bokkeummyeon' and 'Habanero Lime Buldak Bokkeummyeon.' Mala Buldak Bokkeummyeon and Curry Buldak Bokkeummyeon were initially export-only products but were officially launched domestically due to requests from Korean consumers.

A Samyang Foods official said, "Although it is still early after the launch, it is receiving a hot response, being mentioned as a must-buy item not only by locals but also by Korean tourists visiting Japan," adding, "We plan to expand sales of Yakisoba Buldak Bokkeummyeon throughout Asia, including Southeast Asia, starting with Japan."
