[Featured Stock] DIENT Signs Largest Equipment Order with GM... Only Domestic 2nd Battery Cathode Material Equipment Highlighted↑

[Asia Economy Reporter Jang Hyowon] DNT is showing strong performance. This is attributed to the news that LG Energy Solution is placing an order for the largest single-scale secondary battery manufacturing equipment by jointly establishing a third factory with GM.

As of 9:21 AM on the 13th, DNT is trading at 13,520 KRW, up 8.18% compared to the previous day.

According to industry sources, LG Energy Solution and the US General Motors (GM) joint venture Ultium Cells are expected to make a large-scale equipment purchase request for the equipment to be installed at the third battery plant in Michigan, USA, by the first half of the year at the latest.

The Ultium Cells third plant will begin operations in the second half of next year. LG Energy Solution plans to produce batteries for 600,000 high-performance electric vehicles (50GWh) at this plant. It is larger than the Ohio first plant (45GWh), which started operations last year, and is similar in scale to the Tennessee second plant, which began operations this year. The industry expects the order size to be in the high 1 trillion KRW range, making it the largest equipment order from LG Energy Solution.

DNT is a specialized company in secondary battery notching equipment. Among global equipment manufacturers, DNT is the only one to have completed the development of laser notching equipment for cathode materials for secondary batteries. It supplied equipment to LG Energy Solution's Ochang plant in Korea and last year deployed equipment at Ultium Cells' first plant in Ohio, USA.
