Yoon's Approval Rating Drops Below 60% After 11 Weeks... Positive at 36.9% [Realmeter]

This is the first time in 11 weeks since the fourth week of November last year that the negative approval rating has reached the 60% range. The positive approval rating, which had rebounded from 37.0% to 39.3% in the first week of February, fell again just one week later.

By region, the highest negative approval rating was in Gwangju and Jeolla at 83.4%, followed by Jeju at 73.0%, Incheon and Gyeonggi at 61.5%, and Daejeon, Sejong, and Chungcheong at 60.9%.

The region with the largest drop in positive approval compared to the previous survey was also Gwangju and Jeolla (down 8.6 percentage points), followed by Busan, Ulsan, and Gyeongnam (down 4.6 percentage points), Daegu and Gyeongbuk (down 2.4 percentage points), Daejeon, Sejong, and Chungcheong (down 2.2 percentage points), and Seoul (down 1.8 percentage points).

By age group, except for those in their 60s (48.6%) and those aged 70 and above (39.3%), the negative approval rating exceeded 60% across all age groups. The age groups with the largest decline in positive approval compared to the previous survey were those in their 30s (down 5.4 percentage points), 70 and above (down 4.5 percentage points), 50s (down 3.2 percentage points), 20s (down 2.0 percentage points), and 60s (down 1.3 percentage points). The 40s showed a slight increase of 1.1 percentage points.

Regarding party support, the Democratic Party of Korea rose by 0.5 percentage points to 42.8%, and the People Power Party increased by 1.5 percentage points to 42.5%, narrowing the gap between the two parties to 0.3 percentage points. Realmeter analyzed that interest in the People Power Party's party convention contributed to the ruling party's increased support. During the same period, the Justice Party fell by 0.3 percentage points to 3.3%, and the proportion of undecided voters decreased by 1.6 percentage points to 10.0%.

The margin of error for this survey is ±2.0 percentage points at a 95% confidence level. The survey was conducted with 97% mobile and 3% landline respondents, with a response rate of 3.4%. For more details, please refer to the website of the Central Election Survey Deliberation Commission.
