During the three-day education, employees of the Dongmyeong-dong Administrative Welfare Center and neighborhood association leaders formed teams of three and conducted education at about 70 places including restaurants and cafes, encouraging active practice of ▲proper disposal of designated waste bags ▲placing separated waste in front of the store door ▲removing foreign substances from plastics before disposal.

The education participants fully agreed on the seriousness of waste problems due to increased use of disposable products, environmental pollution, and the climate crisis, and took the time to accurately learn about waste separation methods that they had not known in detail before.

Jung Dae-kyung, head of Dongmyeong-dong, said, “Taking this education as an opportunity, we will spread a proper waste separation culture and create a ‘clean and livable Dongmyeong-dong.’ We will also do our best to ensure that restaurants and cafes in the area actively participate in the future.”
