Cheering Sister Cities and Nearby Cities with Hometown Love Donations
[Muan=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Oh Hwan-joo] On the 10th, Kim San, the governor of Muan County, participated in the Hometown Love Donation Relay Challenge to ensure the successful establishment of the Hometown Love Donation System and to promote a culture of giving.

According to the county, on this day, Governor Kim San participated in the challenge to strengthen relationships and help revitalize the local economy through win-win cooperation by delivering hometown love donations to the sister city Uiryeong County and nearby cities Mokpo, Yeongam County, and Sinan County.
The donation challenge was carried out in the order of National Assembly members Lee Tan-hee and Ki Dong-min, Seongbuk District Mayor Lee Seung-ro, Jeongeup Mayor Lee Hak-soo, Sacheon Mayor Park Dong-sik, and Uiryeong County Governor Oh Tae-wan.
Governor Kim San received the support challenge from Oh Tae-wan, governor of the sister city Uiryeong County, and nominated Mokpo City, Yeongam County, and Sinan County as the next participants, encouraging them to join the relay.
Governor Kim San of Muan County said, “I hope the Hometown Love Donation System will serve not only to revitalize the local economy but also as an opportunity for mutual cooperation between cities and counties,” adding, “I support the successful establishment of the Hometown Love Donation System in sister cities and nearby cities.”
Implemented from January 1 of this year, the Hometown Love Donation System allows individuals to donate up to 5 million KRW annually to local governments other than their registered address. Donors receive tax deductions (full deduction up to 100,000 KRW) and gifts worth approximately 30% of the donation amount.
The Muan County hometown love donation gifts include Muan Love Gift Certificates, agricultural product packages, Korean beef, Korean pork, rice, seaweed, onion beverages, onion juice, cabbage juice, sweet potatoes, garlic, camping site access at Hoesan Baekryeonji, and Muan Hwangto Mudflat Land camping site.
