[Asia Economy Reporter Jang Hyowon] Dongwoon Anatech has signaled a turnaround in performance by significantly reducing its deficit.
Dongwoon Anatech (CEO Kim Dongcheol) announced on the 10th that its total sales last year amounted to 50.1 billion KRW, a slight decrease compared to 50.7 billion KRW in the previous year. However, its fourth-quarter sales surged significantly to 15.8 billion KRW compared to the same period last year and the previous quarter. Additionally, last year's operating loss was recorded at 6.3 billion KRW, down 9.5 billion KRW from 15.8 billion KRW the previous year, achieving a substantial reduction in deficit.
A Dongwoon Anatech official stated, "Our front, rear ultra-wide, and rear 10M 3x zoom new AF (autofocus) IC chips have been installed in all smartphone models released this month by domestic customers," adding, "We also expect a recovery in the Greater China market, including domestic mid-to-low-end smartphones scheduled for release this year."
Furthermore, 50% of the technology transfer fees from Halo Microelectronics, with whom an exclusive technology license agreement was signed last December, were deposited by last month, and this amount is expected to be recognized as net profit in the first quarter of this year.
