[Asia Economy Reporter Hyungsoo Park] NH Investment & Securities forecasted on the 10th that Flitto will turn profitable this year as it begins full-scale sales of AI data training language data.

Researcher Kyunggeun Kang of NH Investment & Securities introduced, "Flitto provides not only monetary rewards but also additional incentives such as language learning to attract a large number of users to its operating language translation platform," adding, "The daily language data generation exceeds 300,000 items, and it holds over 100 million cumulative data."

He continued, "It supports 25 languages across 173 countries," and added, "More than 10 million users are currently using the platform." Furthermore, he emphasized, "The copyrights of the vast amounts of text, voice, and image language data produced on the platform belong to Flitto."

Researcher Kang stated, "The corpus collected through the platform undergoes a verification process utilizing collective intelligence for refinement, and then the language data is sold to public institutions or global IT companies that require it."

He explained, "The high-quality training language data generated daily through the platform is used to advance AI engines," and added, "Based on efficient large-scale data management know-how, various conditional language data are provided along with metadata such as gender, age group, and region."

He further said, "We have also secured recommendation and platform construction technologies related to various forms of language data such as text, images, videos, and SNS content translation," and noted, "Due to the nature of the platform, data sets can be quickly built, which is advantageous for producing big data and allows for fast processing at low cost."

Researcher Kang also analyzed, "We have secured major domestic and international IT companies such as Microsoft, Oracle, Naver, Tencent, and Baidu as clients," and added, "On December 21 last year, we signed a corpus sales contract with a global IT company."

He said, "The contract amount is 1.8 billion KRW, and the method involves receiving original data from the company, processing it on the platform, and delivering it," adding, "Since the contract is a small-scale agreement for the purpose of testing the AI engine performance improvement of the company, followed by subsequent orders, we expect to sign additional large-scale contracts within the year."

It is estimated that Flitto will achieve sales of 25 billion KRW and an operating profit of 1 billion KRW this year.
