[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Gwan-joo] Yonsei University Yongin Severance Hospital announced on the 10th that it has expanded and opened its Cardiovascular Center.

The Cardiovascular Center began expansion and relocation construction in September last year and completed it last month. The number of echocardiography rooms increased from 7 to 13, and 5 additional echocardiography examination devices were installed. In addition, various tests previously conducted in two electrocardiogram rooms were dispersed and operated in the expanded and relocated functional examination room to alleviate overcrowding.

Additional consultation rooms were secured within the existing space, and the cardiac rehabilitation treatment room was expanded as part of the space rearrangement. In particular, with the expansion of the cardiac rehabilitation treatment room, the cardiac rehabilitation program can now be actively applied to all patients who have undergone heart-related surgeries and procedures.

Center Director Cho Deok-gyu said, "The continuous increase in the number of echocardiography examinations, lack of existing space, and increased demand due to the insurance coverage of echocardiography examinations have increased the need for center expansion," adding, "The expanded Cardiovascular Center aims to perform more than 2,200 echocardiography examinations per month and will continue efforts to become a top-tier center nationwide within five years."

The Yongin Severance Hospital Cardiovascular Center has a system that provides a one-stop service from diagnosis to treatment and cardiac rehabilitation, including same-day examination and prescription, with the goal of a no-wait examination room and rapid emergency procedures prepared 24 hours a day.
