[Gochang=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Jaegil] The “Senior Citizens' Hair and Beauty Expense Support,” one of the key pledge projects of Shim Deokseop, the mayor of Gochang County in the 8th local government, is set to be launched in earnest.
According to the county on the 10th, the “Senior Citizens' Hair and Beauty Expense Support” provides 60,000 KRW worth of Gochang Love Gift Certificates to senior citizens aged 75 and older to cover hair and beauty service expenses.
Applications will be accepted at the town and township administrative welfare centers until this month, and the Gochang Love Gift Certificates will be distributed starting next month.
The county plans to revise the ordinance in the first half of the year to expand the support amount and places where the certificates can be used.
Previously, Mayor Shim Deokseop adopted “Supporting active social and economic activities of senior citizens” as a pledge project and has been carrying out the senior citizens' hair and beauty expense support project.
During his term, the existing hair and beauty shops will be expanded to include bath and hair and beauty shops, and the amount will be increased from 60,000 KRW to 100,000 KRW.
Mayor Shim Deokseop said, “I hope that the support for hair and beauty expenses will be an opportunity for senior citizens to maintain the dignity of their later life,” and added, “We will continue to develop various elderly welfare policies to make Gochang County a happy place for senior citizens.”
