[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Jungnang-gu (Mayor Ryu Gyeong-gi) announced that it will select the '2023 Jungnang-gu Promotional Models' to find new faces representing Jungnang-gu.
This year, the promotional model program, operated for the first time, will recruit in four categories: ▲Children (ages 5?7) ▲Adolescents (ages 8?19) ▲Adults (ages 20?64) ▲Seniors (65 and older).
The number of recruits is 5 each for children, adolescents, and seniors, and 8 for adults, totaling 20 people. Anyone residing in Jungnang-gu or working/studying in the district can apply.
Applicants should fill out the application form on the Jungnang-gu Office website and submit two photos taken within the last six months along with a self-introduction video of up to 30 seconds via email by the 24th.
The appointment period is from March to December this year. Selected models will become the faces representing Jungnang-gu and will actively promote the district’s major projects, landmarks, events, and festivals. They will participate as models in various promotional materials such as newsletters, social network service (SNS) content, and videos. Models who participate in activities will receive a small activity fee or volunteer hours.
Ryu Gyeong-gi, Mayor of Jungnang-gu, said, "We are recruiting citizen promotional models for the first time to enhance the pride and dignity of Jungnang residents and to promote the district in a friendly and lively way. We will share various stories of Jungnang-gu together with the citizen promotional models in the future."

Gwangjin-gu (Mayor Kim Kyung-ho) held the ‘Gwangjin SNS Reporters Appointment Ceremony’ at the Gwangjin-gu Office Planning Situation Room on the 10th.
The ‘Gwangjin SNS Reporters,’ who directly discover and produce various content such as Gwangjin-gu’s culture, landmarks, and living information or share district news via SNS, were launched to promote district projects through the fastest and most active communication channel, SNS, and to enhance understanding of district administration.
At the ceremony, Mayor Kim Kyung-ho presented appointment certificates to 11 reporters in attendance and celebrated their appointment. Afterwards, a brief introduction and guidance on activities were provided.
Mayor Kim Kyung-ho said, “I hope you connect residents and Gwangjin-gu more closely by sharing useful projects and information with those who really need them. I also hope you learn and utilize the ‘Gwangjin-gu user guide’ well through your reporter activities.”
The appointed reporters total 16 people, ranging in age from teens to 60s. The district expects this diversity to greatly help provide Gwangjin-gu information tailored to the interests and needs of different age groups. It is also a great advantage that all reporters are either residents or local area residents with workplaces or schools in Gwangjin-gu, enabling closer sharing of valuable district information.
The Gwangjin SNS Reporters will conduct their activities through personal blogs until December. They will receive a writing fee of 10,000 KRW per article, with a maximum of 60,000 KRW per person. If selected as an outstanding article, they will receive an additional 30,000 KRW and be featured on the official Gwangjin-gu blog.

From this year, 200,000 KRW support when opening a Saemaeul Geumgo account in the name of a child registered in Anam-dong
Seongbuk-gu (Mayor Lee Seung-ro) announced on the 8th that Anam-dong and Anam-dong Saemaeul Geumgo signed a business agreement for the birth celebration fund support project.
This agreement is expected to contribute to solving the low birthrate problem by fostering a community atmosphere that encourages childbirth.
Anam-dong Saemaeul Geumgo will provide a 200,000 KRW birth celebration fund when opening a Saemaeul Geumgo account in the name of a child registered in Anam-dong after January 1, 2023. Choi Kwang-seok, Chairman of Anam-dong Saemaeul Geumgo, said, “As a representative financial institution in the community, our Saemaeul Geumgo decided to support the birth celebration fund to fulfill our social responsibility. We hope this will spread a childbirth encouragement atmosphere and lead to an increase in the birthrate.”
Lee Seung-ro, Mayor of Seongbuk-gu, said, “I thank Anam-dong Saemaeul Geumgo for contributing to the community to overcome the low birthrate problem together. I hope this agreement will lead to the expansion of birth celebration fund support throughout Seongbuk-gu. Mapo-gu Disability Awareness Improvement Video Content Contest
Open to All Seoul Citizens, Submissions Accepted from February 20 to March 3 at 6 PM
Protecting the Human Rights of Persons with Disabilities, Improving Discrimination, and Creating a Community Atmosphere of Inclusion
Mapo-gu (Mayor Park Gang-su) is hosting the ‘2023 Disability Awareness Improvement Video Content Contest’ to promote understanding and correct awareness of persons with disabilities.
This contest aims to protect the human rights of persons with disabilities, improve discrimination, and foster a community atmosphere where persons with and without disabilities live together harmoniously.
The contest theme is freely chosen related to disability awareness improvement, such as dreams, courage, love, family, etc., and participants should produce an original storytelling video within about 3 minutes.
The submission period is from February 20 to March 3 at 6 PM, and any Seoul resident can participate. However, only one entry per person (or team) is allowed, and teams can have up to 4 members.
Individuals or groups wishing to participate should check the contest details on the Mapo-gu website’s public notice, then submit the application form, personal information consent form, and the produced video to the Mapo-gu Disability Cooperation Division via email.
The district plans to comprehensively evaluate the submitted works in March based on originality, completeness, interest, quality, and usability, selecting a total of five entries.
The grand prize winner will receive 1,000,000 KRW, two excellence awards will receive 500,000 KRW each, and two encouragement awards will receive 250,000 KRW each, along with certificates. Selected works will be showcased at the ‘1st Mapo Disability One-Heart Festival’ held in April.

Mapo-gu has established the 2023 Comprehensive Disability Welfare Plan and is implementing 41 projects in three areas to promote customized disability welfare throughout the life cycle for creating a happy coexistence city for persons with and without disabilities.
