Nexon Achieves Record High Revenue Last Year... Success of Dungeon & Fighter and HIT 2 Boosts Sales (Update)

The success of new titles ‘Dungeon & Fighter Mobile’ and ‘HIT 2’, along with steady performances from flagship live service titles such as ‘MapleStory’, ‘FIFA Online 4’, and ‘Dungeon & Fighter’, drove solid results.

The annual mobile revenue increased by 41% year-over-year, thanks to the success of ‘Dungeon & Fighter Mobile’, which reimagines the ‘Dungeon & Fighter’ intellectual property (IP) for mobile, and ‘HIT 2’, which reinterprets Nexon’s flagship mobile IP ‘HIT’ as a massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG).

PC online revenue also grew by 24% compared to the previous year. The flagship games ‘MapleStory’ and ‘FIFA Online 4’ maintained steady performance. The Chinese version of ‘Dungeon & Fighter’ successfully rebounded in revenue.

Last year, revenue from the Korean region increased by 38% year-over-year. This was due to the continuous success of newly released titles and the strong performance of live titles focused on user-friendly operations. As a result, the domestic revenue share expanded to 60%.

Meanwhile, Nexon plans to release various new titles starting with ‘KartRider: Drift’, which will open its regular season next month on the 9th with full cross-play across PC, mobile, and console platforms. Other upcoming titles include ‘Prasia Jeongi’, ‘First Descendant’, ‘Mabinogi Mobile’, and ‘Warhaven’.

Owen Mahoney, CEO of Nexon (Japan), said, “Despite the challenging global economic environment, Nexon’s revenue grew 49% year-over-year in the fourth quarter, and we expect a 28-38% increase in the first quarter of this year. Even amid economic instability, Nexon will focus on its strength in live operations from a long-term perspective and continue to enhance user satisfaction to achieve strong results.”
