The customized welfare system, introduced in 2005 to guarantee the welfare and living stability of school staff and their families, allocates welfare points based on individual years of service and number of dependents, which can be used for ▲health management ▲self-development ▲leisure activities ▲family-friendly purposes.
This year, the basic welfare points were increased from 700 to 800 points, and the target for biennially supported special health checkup expenses was expanded from those aged 50 and above to those aged 40 and above.
This expansion of the special health checkup support aims to promote the health and welfare of school staff through disease prevention and early detection. Those born in odd years aged 40 and above can receive up to 200,000 KRW to cover health checkup costs.
Additionally, to boost sales in traditional markets and protect local alleyway businesses, purchasing Onnuri gift certificates or Busan local love gift certificates such as Dongbaekjeon and e-BaguPay is mandatory in the voluntary category.
The Busan Office of Education plans to encourage school staff to use their individual welfare points early to revitalize the sluggish local economy.
