Yeongyang-gun, 2023 Multicultural Family Ski Camp Held

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Gwiyeol] Yeongyang-gun, Gyeongbuk Province (Governor Oh Do-chang) held the ‘2023 Yeongyang-gun Multicultural Family Ski Camp,’ a 2-night, 3-day event from February 8 to 10 at High1 Resort in Jeongseon-gun, Gangwon Province, jointly with the Yeongyang-gun Multicultural Family Support Center, with about 60 multicultural families from the region participating.

This camp was organized to help multicultural families of various nationalities such as Vietnam, the Philippines, and China relieve everyday stress through skiing, a representative winter sport, strengthen mind and body through new cultural experiences, and foster family love. The program included lessons and experiences with professional instructors, sledding experiences, gondola tours, and various other activities.


One participant in the camp said, “It was my first time skiing in my life, and it was a happy time filled with fun and emotion. Above all, I was especially glad to make joyful memories with my family.”


Kwon Do-won, Director of the Ecological Park Office, said, “I am grateful to the parents and children who actively participated in the camp. I hope this camp provided a valuable opportunity for multicultural families, who have established themselves as members of the community, to communicate and interact in various ways and recharge both body and mind.”
