Discussion on the Formation and Operation Plan of the Joint Consultative Body for Potential Investors
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Heo Seon-sik] The Gwangyang Bay Area Free Economic Zone Authority (Director Song Sang-rak, hereinafter Gwangyang Economic Authority) announced on the 9th that it held a meeting to form a joint consultative body involving both the public and private sectors to revitalize the Hwayang District complex tourism complex, a future tourism industry, at the Yeosu Matthieu Hotel on the 8th.
This meeting was attended by representatives of potential investors, the Gwangyang Economic Authority, and the development project implementers, agreeing to strive to become a cooperative consultative body that promotes the development of the Hwayang District.
To ensure the substance of the joint consultative body's operation, they also discussed expanding participation to include local governments and village representatives.
Jung Chan-gyun, Head of Investment Attraction Headquarters, said, "We will actively support administrative matters for the revitalization of Yeosu Hwayang District," and added, "Let us share progress through the consultative body and continuously develop it."
He also urged the developer, The Ocean, to start the project as soon as possible.
The Hwayang Complex Tourism District is being developed as a year-round complex resort tourism complex with golf courses, hotels, condos, and leisure cultural facilities on an area of 6.43 million m2 in Jangsu-ri, Hwayang-myeon, Yeosu City, with development scheduled to be completed by 2024.
