Turkey Supports 10 Million Afghans, Syria 5 Million

[Asia Economy Reporter Geum Boryeong] The Taliban government of Afghanistan, one of the poorest countries, has decided to send aid funds to T?rkiye (Turkey) and Syria, which suffered great damage from the earthquake.


According to major foreign media, on the 8th (local time), the Taliban Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a statement saying, "We will provide an aid package worth 15 million Afghanis (about 208 million KRW) to T?rkiye and Syria."

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs added, "The Afghan government will deliver aid packages amounting to 10 million Afghanis to T?rkiye and 5 million Afghanis to Syria in accordance with humanitarianism and Islamic brotherhood."


Afghanistan is currently facing severe economic difficulties and is receiving aid from international organizations such as the United Nations. It has been reported that hundreds have died recently due to the economic crisis and severe cold weather there.


Meanwhile, the death toll from the earthquake damage in T?rkiye and Syria is reported to have exceeded 11,200.
