Turkey-Syria Earthquake Relief Special Fundraising Campaign ... Daegu Community Chest of Korea

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Koo Dae-sun] The Daegu Community Chest of Korea (Daegu Sarangui Yeolmae) launched a special fundraising campaign on the 8th to aid earthquake relief efforts in Turkey and Syria.

On the 6th, a magnitude 7.8 earthquake struck the southern region of Turkey and the northern border area of Syria. As of the 7th, the death toll has been confirmed to be over 8,100, with more than 34,000 injured. Due to ongoing aftershocks and difficulties in rescue operations caused by cold weather and heavy snowfall, the number of casualties is expected to continue rising.

The Daegu Community Chest will conduct a special fundraising campaign until the 28th, alongside an emergency support fund of 1 million USD, to assist earthquake victims and refugees who have lost their loved ones and homes and are exposed to danger.
