Police Investigate Defamation Charges

[Asia Economy Reporter Jang Sehee] The police are investigating a production company that spread rumors about actress Shim Eunha's (51) comeback.
On the 8th, the Seoul Suseo Police Station announced that they are investigating Company A and its representative on charges of violating the Act on Promotion of Information and Communications Network Utilization and Information Protection, etc. (defamation).
Company A and its representative are accused of defamation for spreading false information that they had signed a contract with Shim and paid a contract fee of 1.5 billion won for appearances in dramas and other works. Shim reportedly completely denied the comeback news.
Shim debuted in 1993 as part of the 22nd class of MBC talent recruits and gained great popularity by playing leading roles in dramas such as "Last Match" and "Trap of Youth," as well as the film "Christmas in August."
